Descrição

In a world where power and legacy intertwine, Leo Gallo emerges as the heir to a formidable mafia dynasty. As the son of Sebastian and Yelena, he carries the weight of familial expectations and the burdens of leadership. But Leo's life takes unexpected turns when rival families weave their intricate plots, challenging his place in a brutal hierarchy where loyalty is scarce.

As he navigates a treacherous landscape marked by betrayal and ambition, Leo must confront not only external foes but also the complexities of his own desires. The intense rivalries with other mafia heirs set the stage for an explosive journey, where choices made can lead to triumph or tragic downfall.

In this deeply woven tale of love, power, and the quest for identity, Leo's journey is not just about claiming his birthright but discovering who he truly is beneath the pressures of a ruthless world. Each moment leads him closer to either unifying his fractured legacy or watching it unravel.

Before I read this book and before I read the blurb, in my review for "Heavy Crown," I had said that it would be interesting if Dean had ended up with Anna. I've changed my mind. When I said that, it was before I had met Dean. In the beginning, I liked him. He was interesting and a better guy than I would have thought considering who raised him. But then came the party. And he crossed the line for me.When I noticed that the book had Leo's, Anna's, and Dean's POV, I had a pretty good idea that it was going to be a love triangle. And it kind of was. Dean has an instant obsession with Anna, fueled by his own interest and the fact that she is Leo's best friend. What I was not expecting was the level of pain I got. And I love it. Dean is manipulative and cruel. When Anna says she wants to take things slow [namely because Dean is not the guy she wants to be sleeping with], he ignores that the further along they go. In my eyes, it's proof he never really cared about her. He wanted to control her but there is no controlling someone like Anna. She's Miko's daughter through and through. It takes so long for the truth of that party to come to light. So long that I start to wonder if it will be revealed. I knew it had to at some point. I figured that moment would be what causes Dean and Anna to split but I was both surprised and not. Dean messed up and crossed a line Anna wasn't willing to accept, a boundary she had placed at the beginning of their relationship. As time goes, things just get worse and worse until Dean makes a decision that changes things. I know the third book, "The Bully," is his book so I know he will eventually find happiness and a love he deserves. But getting there is not going to be an easy trek and whoever ends up with him will have a struggle on their hands getting Dean to settle. He's a cold flame that is just burning and freezing everything it touches. Hopefully the girl who wins his heart is strong enough to bear it. I'm excited to get to that book. But first, I get to see Miles fall in love. He's the next one I will be following. And I have some theories how it will go. I can't wait to see if I'm right or way off the mark.Regardless, it's time to dive into the next book, "The Rebel."
