Descrição

Nell MacInnes can spot a forgery from a mile away. After all, she learned from the best -- her father is one of the art world's most notorious thieves. His brutal beating by the very authorities who claim to keep the world safe from harm taught her one more valuable lsson -- trust no one. The last thing rugged navy SEAL Dakota Smith needs on his mission is a tempting woman he doesn't trust. But a sketch by Leonardo da Vinci has gone missing, and the art conservator's skill in detecting forgery would be invaluable, if only her ties to the criminal world are as dead as she says they are. Soon an edgy partnership and white-hot attraction are forged between Nell and Dakota as they race to Draycott Abbey to track down a ruthless criminal with terrorist ties before time runs out -- and the da Vinci is lost forever.

In this first book, we got to know a little about the warriors and their demons and also followed the love story of Maddox and Ashlyn. I loved this book, as well as Dark Lover, the romance is built very quickly, let's say the couple has an instant connection - so if you don't like stories like that this book isn't for you - But it didn't hurt their chemistry that it was wonderful. The book ends with a feeling of wanting more and that the story will develop further. I love that the next book comes soon to Lucien because he is already my favourite. And yes, it's mainly because he's called Lucien and reminds me of Lucien from ACOTAR

I've read a few books by Susan Mallery this year mostly from the Fool's Gold series and I enjoy them, they are not life changing or intense BUT they are a fun few hours of entertainment. Someone recommended that I read a different series by Susan Mallery, I'm glad I did I give Sweet Talk (Bakery Sisters #1) ★★★★. I liked the complicated relationship between the sisters. I like that the sweet prodigy Claire finally found some backbone and stood up to everyone who want to tell her she wasn't worthy. I glad that Nicole the sister who took care of the baby sister and the business realized that life isn't always greener on the other side.
