The Artefacts of Ouranos series had all the elements I usually love in a romantasy—magic, fae realms, deadly trials, and a slow-burn romance—but something about the overall execution just didn’t quite land for me.Lor, the FMC, is a fiery and determined heroine, but I found her a little too whiny at times, especially in the earlier parts of the story. I listened to the audiobooks, which may have amplified that feeling—sometimes a narrator’s tone can really shape how a character comes across. While I appreciated her resilience, I often wanted her to feel more grounded in her growth.The worldbuilding had potential, and I liked the concept of artefacts, ancient power, and competing fae courts. But there were moments where the plot felt repetitive or rushed, and some of the twists came off as a bit convenient or underdeveloped. I did enjoy the dynamic between Lor and the MMC—the tension was there, but the romance took a long time to really get going, and I’m not sure it paid off as much as I’d hoped.Despite its flaws, it was still an entertaining listen and had some fun, adventurous moments. If you’re in the mood for something light, dramatic, and fae-filled, it could still scratch that fantasy itch—but personally, I was hoping for a bit more depth.
