Probably a 3.5

Everything goes well and then your lover falls terribly ill, travels without you and hits you with: "Against my will i have become normal. I cannot help it" then falls in love with your sister and becomes homophobic

I think i wanted to love this book a bit too hard. I loved the movie, the storie, the characters. Maybe the writing style was not my cup of tea, or it wasn't fitting for this book. But I understand why it's such an important part of queer literature.

I was a bit lost and confused at times, but maybe it's just me. I think watching the movie before really helps you picture everything better and it was lacking in that sense for me. The writing felt... flat? For once in my life, i'm finding myself yarning for erotism in a book. Or anything that would have made it feel more lively. I continued it but it was starting to be really long.

Overall Rating: 3.5*
