Посмотреть всеThis is book #6.5 in the Seven series. I had the privilege of reading book 3 and 4 and if I were to compare them all I would have to say that this installment was the better of the three. What I love about the series is that all of the books can be read as a stand-alone and Charming was no different. This installment was funny, entertaining and engaging. I was pulled into the story from the first page and was held captive throughout the entire story. I never lost interest for a moment. It was that captivating. In Charming, we meet Prince, a 700-year-old pureblood werewolf. He is originally from Russia but relocated to America to start over. In the process, he became a pack master who was feared and respected by his pack mates. Things were going well until the moment his past collided with his present. At this point, we meet Nadia Koslov, the daughter of the alpha werewolf who saved his life several centuries ago. In a bid to re-connect with his savior, he sought to obtain information from Nadia. Because of her pureblood status, he thought she would be the perfect mate for him. As such his reason for seeking her out was twofold. However, he never counted on meeting her twin sister Katarina Koslov. Katarina and Nadia are identical twins but were as different as night and day. Nadia bought and sold antiques while Katarina was a bounty huntress. When Prince discovered that her mark was an old enemy of his he decided to team up with her with the hope that he would finally get his revenge. Nadia came off as a snob. Katarina was selfless, funny, quirky, outspoken, sassy and down to earth. She always puts her sister’s needs before her, especially when it came to affairs of the heart. It is clear that although Nadia behaved like an entitled princess, it was evident she was jealous of her sister. I enjoyed the banter between Prince and Katarina. She brought out a side of him that people rarely saw. She brought laughter and joy into his world. Working with her allowed him to see that behind her badass demeanor was a woman who loved fiercely. I liked that Katarina was willing to step back at times and allow Prince to take charge. It was easy to understand why the characters behaved the way they did. The author provided sufficient background information on them all. My favourite character is Katarina. She helped to make the story into the funny and entertaining read that it was. I thought the story was well written. The pacing was steady. I do believe that the balance between the romance and the action was adequate. One did not overshadow the other. The ending was great. The author wrapped up everything nicely as such I was not left with any unanswered questions. To conclude, this was a great addition to the series. If you are a fan of paranormal romance and have never read any of the books in this series, you are missing out on some great stories. I highly recommend that you rectify this oversight.
