Описание

» Lyla Sage, autrice de Done and Dusted

⤿ Reading period: May 19 - May 22, 2025⤿ Rating: ★★★★★“But what’s wrong with being a romantic? I can be a confident, independent woman and still want someone to hold my hand. To ask about my day. It’s a good thing to want pas-sion and excitement and care. Attention and affection. I don’t want to settle for anything less than that.”This book is an absolute treasure, radiating warmth and joy from its very pages. The characters are beautifully crafted, and as their journeys unfold, I found myself increasingly enamored with their development. The narrative eschews the typical third-act breakup trope, opting instead for a refreshing portrayal of two mature individuals who grant each other the necessary space to navigate their emotions. This choice not only elevates the story but also infuses it with a sense of realism that is often lacking in romance novels, allowing the reader to bask in the authenticity of their relationship.➸ Lucie Stone:“I want to feel something when I connect with someone. I want sparks. The good kind, you know? I want to laugh and mean it. I want goose bumps. I want to wonder what my date is thinking about and hope it might be me. I want…I want the magic.”.Lucie, the female main character, is a delightful force of nature. Her humor and charm make her incredibly relatable, and witnessing her journey toward self-acceptance and the belief that she is worthy of love is nothing short of inspiring. I particularly appreciated how she defied traditional gender roles through her profession, supported wholeheartedly by her colleagues. The dynamic between Lucie and her mother, Maya, is filled with sass and admiration, creating a bond that many would envy. Additionally, the presence of Grayson and Mateo adds layers of warmth and humor, embodying the essence of found family and unconditional love that resonates deeply throughout the narrative.➸ Aiden Valentine:“Long-time listener, first-time caller,” he says over the line. There’s a reluctant grin in his voice. It twists his words up at the edges, just like his smile. “I was hoping you could give me some advice.”Aiden, the male main character, complements Lucie perfectly. While he is not without flaws, his willingness to acknowledge and learn from his mistakes showcases a commendable depth of character. His friendships with Maggie and Jackson inject a delightful dose of humor into the storyline, making their interactions a joy to read. I find myself eagerly anticipating Jackson’s story, as the camaraderie among the characters is truly captivating. This book is nothing short of perfection, enveloping the reader in a heartfelt embrace that lingers long after the final page is turned. It’s a narrative that leaves you grinning from ear to ear, making it a must-read for anyone who adores romance and romantic comedies.AND HEAR ME OUT!! HE KEPT A LIST OF HER FAVORITE THINGS IN HIS GLOVE COMPARTMENT SO HE DOESN’T FORGET THEM! LIKE AHHH I NEED SOMEONE LIKE HIM IN MY LIFE!“I’m thinking about her, about us, about this. About this tiny café across from her house and all the places we almost met. About the right time, the right place, the right moment. I’m thinking about the way her hand fits in mine, and the way my heart drums out a beat that matches her name. Lu-cie. Lu-cie. Lu-cie.”I experienced this book in audio format, and oh my goodness, it was an absolute delight! I found myself completely captivated, almost obsessed with the narrative. Choosing the audio version truly enhanced my enjoyment, making the entire experience feel richer and more immersive. This was my inaugural encounter with Becs’ work, but it certainly won’t be my last (of course). The charming, cinnamon roll vibe of the story had me utterly enchanted, and I was particularly drawn to the theme of found family, especially the dynamic between Lucy and Greyson, which was beautifully portrayed. The book radiated a sense of magic that lingered long after I finished it. I must confess, there was a moment when Aiden’s actions left me feeling quitefrustrated, yet the overall beauty of the story had me melting in spite of that. I found myself relating to both Aiden and Lucy in unique ways, and I simply adored Maya—her character was a breath of fresh air. Jackson, with his hilarious antics, had me in stitches, particularly during the scene where Greyson sends a text to Patty after Lucy’s night out (if you know, you know).Did I shed tears? Absolutely—I sobbed. I was so engrossed that I couldn’t bear to put it down. This audio experience is a must-listen for everyone; it was just… *exhales deeply* so incredibly good!“My name is Aiden Valentine and you’re live with Heartstrings, Baltimore’s romance hotline.”I love this line so much, that I say it every time I remember it (out loud).B.K. Borison unveils a captivating blend of romance and nostalgia in this novel. With her trademark wit and irresistible charm, Borison crafts a delightful narrative that juxtaposes the jaded perspective of a late-night radio host against the idealistic dreams of a hopeless romantic, all set against the backdrop of a radio dating segment. The chemistry between the protagonists, Lucie Stone and Aiden Valentine, crackles with tension as they navigate their undeniable attraction while grappling with their own reservations about love. Their journey unfolds in a world where the vibrant personalities of the radio station come alive, inviting readers to immerse themselves in the delightful workplace dynamics and the endearing camaraderie of the Heartstrings crew. The antics of Jackson and his playful rivalry with Delilah add an extra layer of charm, making the setting feel both familiar and exhilarating. First-Time Caller encapsulates the essence of classic love stories while leaving readers yearning for more, as Borison skillfully weaves a tale that promises to enchant and entertain, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated continuation of this enchanting series.“Because you said it was your favorite,” I admit. “And I want your favorite to be my favorite.”Aiden finds himself in a perplexing situation: a man who has long dismissed the notion of love is now faced with the undeniable chemistry he shares with Lucie. As he grapples with his burgeoning feelings, he is torn between his desire to protect her and the nagging belief that he cannot provide her with the happiness she seeks. Lucie, vibrant and resilient, is on a quest for her ideal partner, yet the connection they share ignites a conflict within Aiden. He wrestles with the idea of doing the right thing by encouraging her to pursue someone who can fulfill her dreams, all while the magnetic pull between them grows stronger. Will he have the courage to dismantle the emotional barriers he has so carefully constructed, or will he resign himself to the role of the noble guardian, pushing her away for her own good?“Nah, Lucie.” In my dream, he brushes a kiss against my forehead. “I think you’re the magic.”The dynamic between Aiden and Lucie is nothing short of electric, a dance of attraction that captivates the heart. Lucie embodies bravery and kindness, her fierce spirit shining through in her role as a skilled mechanic, always prioritizing the needs of those she loves. In contrast, Aiden presents a façade of cold sarcasm, masking a tender romantic soul beneath layers of melancholy. Their interactions are charged with tension, each moment brimming with unspoken words and lingering glances. As they navigate their complex emotions, the question looms: can Aiden embrace the possibility of love and transform into the man Lucie deserves, or will he allow fear to dictate his choices, potentially losing the very connection that has begun to redefine his understanding of happiness?“I think books are sexy,”OH yeahh gurll I knoww.────୨ৎ────⤷ Thank you for reaching to this point here and I’m really glad and thankful for you, love you ⟡.
