New Review June 2023:I already have read this book in German last year in September and gave it three stars. The reason why it only got three stars was that the character Stefan was spelled Stefano - which isn´t really his name at all, so I had quit some trouble reading and liking it back then. Now, I have the whole box collection in Englisch and Stefano was corrected into Stefan, so it may be better this time for me to imagine the characters more detailed like they look in the series, since the names are the same. AFTER READING IT: So I’m finally done with this book and so far it was better since the name got changed and it was a good idea to buy the complete series as box set in English too. I also had some audiobooks of it I listened to while also reading it at the same time and I’m totally in this story and will read the next book/ start it today. There are some things I hated about this book because names were changed and characters were totally different from the tv series but it was okay for me. I like the fact that Alaric will be showing up pretty soon in the next books, because if I had to choose a character from the tv show and the book series it’s definitely AlaricWill add a review later after finishing it. 1st Reading: February 2025I'm writing this just because I saw so many one star reviews. What can I say, to each his own, but I binged on this. I ate the book and enjoyed every single bite. I even enjoyed it more than the show! I'm definitely postponing every next read to see what book two will bring to the table._____________2nd Reading: December 2025A second promenade through this first volume helped me see with more clarity some of the book's hidden qualities. Beyond the young adult mould of love and attachment, there is a very attractive example of dignity of being. One can read the "perfection" of the brothers as something more than a cheap tool to attract youngish readers. Theirs is a perfection of manners as well as dress that is based on the dignity of being. It reminds me a little of Hannibal Lecter, not that the three characters have anything in common beyond the desire to be excellent for the single purpose of living up to a personal ideal. I find such little guidelines for life delicious in a work of fiction. The second reading didn't disappoint

Como fã da série, posso dizer que eles pegaram um esboço de algo horrível e transformaram em uma obra de arte.\n\nNo livro, os personagens são insuportáveis e desinteressantes. Tudo acontece rápido demais. Sem emoção, sem mistério. Você termina e não tem interesse algum em saber do resto. Não torce para os casais, não torce pelos personagens. É basicamente aquela leitura que você começa e termina sem se envolver com nada e nem com ninguém!\n\nComo fã apegada à série, vou continuar para saber até onde vai. Mas não é legal, não é interessante. Não dá vontade de continuar. Simplesmente péssimo.
