In the small town of Mesilla on the outskirts of the Mexican border, Deputy Jasper Jacobs fears he’s the only one fighting for law and order. He suspects the sheriff is crooked and a show-down is imminent. Not only between Jasper and the sheriff, but between Jasper and the Blackroot Gang.

Dealing with injustice comes with the harsh reality of using his gun. Jasper takes no joy in killing, but he’ll do it to protect the innocent. And this time around, he’s especially bent on protecting the red-headed saloon girl, Kitty Clarke.

Jasper’s attempt to bring down the lawless threatens to be his last. But the possibility of death only fuels his purpose.

Deputy Jacobs is not a man to be trifled with.
