(3.5) liked it, read after seeing the series.was it absolutely amazing never better? no.was i so invested i could not stop reading / thinking abt it? yes.excited to read the rest of the series + season 2!!
Tv adaptation really saved this book cause there are LOTS OF THINGS that I'm grateful for being changed in the adaptation.
Garret Graham, so perfect. So hot. Perfect cute relationship. The flirty start is awesome and so cute as well as funny. Perfect tutor - tutee start. I love this book and their relationship.
This was an entertaining read with a simple plot and characters that you’ll want to be friends with. I loved Hannah and Garrett together. I love the banter and bluntness of their relationship and how it evolved from having zero interest to actual friendship and then to something more. The progression of their feelings was believable. Even with the heavy issues both MCs have faced, they have mostly already dealt with their trauma, which allowed this to still be a light-hearted, rom-com type of read. The author succeeded at taking those usual, sometimes overdone, tropes and keeping it engaging and fun. 3.5 stars!
4.5⭐I went into this book very skeptical, expecting it to reek of 2015 clichés. I can't say I spotted any that bothered me.This holds up so well, I'm impressed. The story itself is very sweet. I loved everything about it. I'll say the third act break up was a bit stupid (but it wasn't overly drawn out, so I'll give it a pass). It wasn't cringe, it wasn't offensive, it was sugar, spice and everything nice.Overall, who would've thought a 2015 romance would be the one to break the DNF and 2⭐ curse I've been under since December?
She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy… Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date. ...and it’s going to be oh so good. All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.
This book was on my tbr last year but never got around to it, so decided to read it this year. I thought it was an okay read and like the way they talked about there trauma. I just dont think his trauma would of been able to be fix that quickly. Unfortuantly this book for me was very cliche and i ended up knowing what was going to happen. I habe loved hockey romance but this loved story just felt like what was happening between the two of them next was quite predictable.
