Описание

Rum, he repeated. I must get away from here. Rum! Rum! I ran to fetch it, but I was quite unsteadied by all that had fallen out, and I broke one glass and fouled the tap, and while I was still getting in my own way, I heard a loud fall in the parlor, and running in, beheld the captain lying full length upon the floor. At the same instant my mother, alarmed by the cries and fighting, came running downstairs to help me. Between us we raised his head. He was breathing very loud and hard, but his eyes were closed and his face a horrible color. . . .

A great story, easy to understand despite the publication year.

Watch young Jim Hawkins grow as a character as he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. If you fancy putting on your pirate hat, grabbing a bottle of rum and setting sail across the Seven Seas to the mysterious Treasure Island, then this is the book for you. This classic written by Robert Louis Stevenson is full of extraordinary characters, each one as different as the last. Their personalities are as interesting as the plot itself. When reading Treasure Island you really feel as though you're apart of the crew yourself. The dialogue flows and in your head you can hear the pirate twang. I think Captain Smollett was one of my favourite characters. He's a very wise man and has some of the best quotes by far in the book. It's definitely a classic to be kept alive. Treasure Island was first published in 1883. All this time has passed and it is still a brilliant book.
