Kim Il Sung was a North Korean politician and the founding leader of North Korea, serving as the country's Supreme Leader from its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. He played a critical role in the Korean War and established a one-party state under the Workers' Party of Korea, promoting a unique variant of socialism known as Juche, which emphasized self-reliance and independence from foreign influence.
