Peril

Sara, 38, has fled from the South to New York, dragging her dark past with her. She met and married Tony nine years ago while working as a singer in a rundown club. However, her stepfather Leo, who pretends to be a proper gangster boss, wants to control Sara for some reason. Although Tony loves his wife, he cannot stand up to her father. Sara decides to gather up her courage and run away from her life of fear and lack of freedom. Her stepfather's men are chasing her, and Tony, worried that he will surely kill her if her father finds her, tries to find her on his own. The owner of a jazz club falls in love with Sara at first sight and hides her...

Will Sara be able to find peace? The lives of the characters, all of whom are burdened by something, intersect subtly as the story moves towards its climax. A departure from the heavy and dark style of his previous works, such as the "Memory Series," this work pursues a "great happy ending" for the heroine and the men surrounding her. An ensemble mystery reminiscent of a film directed by Robert Altman.

果たしてセーラは安穏を手に入れることができるのか。心に「重石」を抱えた登場人物たちの人生が微妙にクロスしながら、物語はクライマックスへと向かう。「記憶シリーズ」に代表される、従来の重く暗い作風から一転、本作品はヒロインと彼女をとりまく男たちの「大いなるハッピー・エンド」を追い求める。ロバート・アルトマン監督の映画のような群像ミステリ。
