Beskrivning

Recensioner
Visa allaI absolutely loved this sequel - that blends dark themes with moments of beauty. The author has taken on the stereotypes of what a mermaid should look like and act, and gives us these exquisitely described mythical beings. I loved that Natasha Bowen has drawn on the stories and legends she’s grown up with and has woven together this story that continues to draw the reader in.SImi is a wonderful main character and I couldn’t help but understand and appreciate why she does what she does - because her family is small but important to her and she is prepared to risk it all. The story comes together in a perfect way so that anything that has lingered from the previous book is tied up and you gain answers that may have remained; in fact I think that this book may well be better than the first - it was perfectly balanced with the romance, and Simi’s need to break the promises she’s long considered important for the good of all. If you’re looking for an immersive read that blends myth with a fantasy world the author has curated to be one that feels real, with a female lead who strives to do the best she can with what is thrown at her? This duology might be perfect for you.
