Archangel's Heart

4.5stars - Thanks Nalini for my relaxing Boxing day and today, and thank you SANTA... I really didn't think I would have this book under my tree yet, but heck I was happy to have my favourite author to read over the holidays [b:Wild Embrace|28008158|Wild Embrace (Psy-Changeling #2.5, 5.1, 11.5, 12.1)|Nalini Singh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1462042558s/28008158.jpg|48015693] is next in the #ChristmasHolidayReadList.OK so what did I think? well... I have been glued to the book since I started reading it yesterday, Thank you Southland weather for giving me the excuse to stay housebound.I love this series, it is hard to say which is top, they switch I suppose when reading the Guild hunter Series its top, then I read a Psy-Changling book and its top again. SO I guess I will say its an even 50/50 top series award, but [a:Nalini Singh|71688|Nalini Singh|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1423312512p2/71688.jpg] gets to keep her Absolute favourite Author title from me yet again (sorry [a:Rachel M. Raithby|7123176|Rachel M. Raithby|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1370495590p2/7123176.jpg] but I know you will understand/agree) There is a lot more introspection into the main characters, I felt this book was like a long awaited holiday with old friends, to catch up, reconnect and learn the subtleties that define their characters, before the storm hits in full force, and I do know that Nalini will hit us with the big Kahoona of the Cascade eventually... But I for one am happy for her to give me more books where I can know more about my favourite Archangel and his family, The Seven may be his elite guards, but they are always first - La Familia, as my brain decides to mash my fave film family with my book family of angels, Vin Diesel would make an awesome bad ass Archangel. The majority of the book is based in the Luminata compound, where those of Angelkind who wish to find enlightenment go, like a monastery ( hooded, pious abstinent from all pleasures?.. we will see!) and when Raphael and Elena arrive it soon sets off her Hunter vibe, and of course she cannot let it rest, (Yeah I didn't think the angels could be so monkish!) along with the knowledge that she is part Moroccan Elena hopes that there may be some record of her ancestry held in the archives.Aodhan is along for the trip, as well as the Cadre and their chosen guard, and I loved to see more interaction between Hannah and Elena, but mostly I loved getting to know more about 'Sparkle' The mysteries are uncovered piece by piece, and I wish the book could have gone on a chapter or two more so I could know more about the new characters introduced. Again I think the main theme in this book is 'Family' and I loved that most of all, because this weeks been one where I have missed mine, so thanks Nalini for bringing me out of my #Christmasfunk xoxo

Archangel's Heart is book 9 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series, it's been two years since the last book it seems that the Cascade is on hold. They only know that it is only a temporary calm. It the two years there has been no sight of Lijuan.A secretive society called Luminata calls the Cadre to meet and address her territory because without an Archangel to ensure order. Nalini Singh's ability to make a reader laugh, cry and want more it exceptional; on one page she had me in tears and then laughing at the antics of these wonderful characters. 5 stars.
