Ascension

The spacecraft carrying the human crew and their guide seeks out the source of the ancient weapon trained on Earth causing the deliberate interference of Earth’s bio-system. Eventually the crew locates the seemingly inert ancient stealth craft in deep orbit around Earth and sets out to destroy it. All too late they realise that they have pitted themselves against an unimaginably powerful alien intelligence and the catastrophic fate it has preordained for Earth. As the corporeal and spiritual entities engage in their struggle, they make a devastating discovery that will rock their understanding of the creation of Earth and of the path of primate development. Against the odds, someone has to complete the mission to save mankind, but their biggest obstacle awaits them: the next phase of human evolution itself.
