I feel very disappointed in this book. It was hyped up so much that I expected a well written and devastatingly heart rending romance. What I got instead was willful misunderstanding and poor communication with a bit of smut for flavor.I've always enjoyed the Hades and Persephone myth, but this was a poor retelling. Persephone is irritating and refuses to listen to logic and reason, instead taking way too long to actually comprehend what Hades tells her about himself This isn't a cute or even healthy romance. I don't buy that they're in love and I certainly feel like Hades can do better. If you want an actually good retelling of this myth, read Neon Gods.
4.5 ⭐️Mother f... Hades, I can't anymore. The tension I knew from the beginning was that he was falling hard like really hard but didn't want to admit it. Love the writing style. It was a funny fast page tuner book. I'm going to read the rest of the series and OF COURSE HADES PIONT OF VIEW OF THE STORY.
