Fickle Sonnets

Poetry. From the author of innumerable books of poetry, fiction, and art writing, comes FICKLE SONNETS. Inspired by Jackie McLean's old Blue Note record, "A Fickle Sonance," Geoffrey Young sat down to alter his previous material to fit within the conventions of the sonnet's fourteen line structure. Culled from his work over the past 30 years, the results of his rewritings become, in his own words, "newly svelt, normatively ample, or, like a Costco urn, functionally clunky, depending on the case." Also from SPD: POCKETS OF WHEAT, LIGHTS OUT, and SUBJECT TO FITS among others.
