⋆. 𐙚 ˚three / five stars ✰baby, life fucks us all.you either love or hate olivie blake’s writing, and i fall firmly in the former. granted this was only the second book i’ve read by her but something about her style just scratches an itch in my brain and i am obsessedddd with it.with that being said my feelings on this book specifically are pretty lukewarm. we follow three siblings who have very different lives and who aren’t close at all, but who have to come together for a bit after their father’s sudden death to sort out his will and things. and we learn about each of the siblings and their respective situations, and get to see them together a lot and how those relationships play out, and i did enjoy reading about it. if you enjoy rich people drama, then you will eat this up!!!but at the same time i never felt truly connected to any character or fully invested in what happened to any of them, and some things felt thrown into the story for no particular reason. like the magic / fantasy elements??? they were so unnecessary to literally anything that happened and if you would’ve removed it all, i actually think this would’ve been an even better fiction novel.𐙚⋆.˚pre-readguys i’m incapable of committing to one book rn and have like five books on my cr at any given time send help?? anyways this has been on my tbr for a bit and one for my enemy by olivie was a five star for me so hopefully this is just as amazing 🤞🏼
