This was the first of many Brandon Sanderson novels I will be reading. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was hooked from the first page. I heard someone describe this book and potentially the rest of the series (I’ll have to keep reading to find out) as a darker version of top gun but with aliens, and so far I have to agree. The action, the characters, the development, and most surprisingly the lack of romance made for a very intriguing story. I can’t wait for what’s to come!
So, I was hesitant about picking up this Brandon Sanderson book because I don't typically like Sci-Fi, and everybody said that Spensa was unlikable in the beginning. Seriously, she's not. She's just weird. But the character development is real, and well done. I truly recommend this book, like all Brandon Sanderson's books, if I'm honest. His writing style just works for me. <spoiler>Honestly, the only 'problem' I could find with this book is that once again, Brandy Sandy is really predictable about which characters he kills off. They always, always get backstory right before the battle that kills them. I called literally every single death and defection except for Rig. Honestly, I don't mind, I find it mostly funny. Still, worth mentioning.</spoiler>
El inicio de una saga que, sinceramente, me ha gustado mucho. El mundo es complejo y muy rico en detalles, y la protagonista es sin duda una de mis favoritas (junto con M-Bot). A pesar de ser una saga, sin duda tiene mucha acción, y los capítulos se me pasaron volando. ¡Por supuesto continuaré con la saga!
