Oh boy.First of all, the pacing with the dual timeline was so clunky and just a mess. We get 1 or 2 present chapters and then BOOM, a lot of the past. And then it was the present the whole way through. This made me feel like their love was artificial in some way because I did not feel anything. Every time she called him Mickey, a piece of my sould died. I get why she does, but as the reader, it makes me so uncomfortable. ESPECIALLY when she calls him that even in spicy scenes, which were sometimes so unecessary for the situations they were in. This is a second chance romance yet I felt like she did not hate him at ALL. She comes for him in the first like, 20% or so? The plot was all over the place and the ending was so anticlimatic. The MMC gave me the ick with his overly possessive behaviour. I normally like possessiveness but even for me, it was way too much. I did not feel any yearning or pining that the second chance trope is supposed to give you. Overall, I would only recommend this book if you are looking for some palette cleanser but even then, there are better options out there
