Major misogynistic overtones and unchallenged sexism made this a tough read. (Think male authors writing women Twitter feed) Had some redemption in the small bits of action and atmosphere we got.

This is my first Harry Hole book, I was genuinely impressed with Jo Nesbo's writing he kept the plot moving and the reader guessing. Harry Hole, a police investigator with the Oslo crime squad. Hole an alcoholic and heavy smoker, he's fighting to keep alcoholism is under control. Harry doesn't suffer fools and is often in conflict with his superiors and some colleagues. It's hard not to recognize that Harry Hole is a brilliant detective.I give this book 4 1/2 stars.
