Boxing Clever

Detective Inspector Tom Ashton is having a hard time. Haunted by memories of his best friend's death and attempting to forge a new relationship after his recent divorce, Tom really doesn't need any more trouble. But in the build up to Manchester's Commonwealth Games, an unidentified body turns up in the river Irwell - and on the streets, somebody is peddling drugs that have an unfortunate side-effect - sudden death. In the midst of all this, Tom discovers an unexpected ally in the form of Alice, an elderly neighbour who has a gift for 'seeing' things that belong in the realm of the paranormal. With her help, Tom's investigation turns towards Franklin Rae, a rising star of the world of boxing, who is using more than just his fists to achieve success... Sharp, incisive and compelling, Boxing Clever is a brilliantly engineered crime thriller that builds to a tense and dramatic conclusion.
