Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov joined the ranks of Tottenham Hotspur FC in July 2006. Born in the city of Blagoevgrad, he followed in his father's footsteps by playing for his local team, Pirin Blagoevgrad, before being snapped up by Sofia's army club, CSKA, where he won the Bulgarian Cup.
