描述
In this collection of eight true escape stories, Paul Brickhill captures the same spirit of adventure that he gave us in his classic book, THE GREAT ESCAPE. The heroism of the servicemen who dared to defy their captors in this volume is matched only by that of the underground movements and ordinary civilians who helped the escapees. From the story of the Spitfire pilot who was left for dead by an execution squad in Sicily to that of the air gunner who enlisted the help of a prostitute in Stetting to cross the Baltic, every one of these is a classic.
