Illicit After Dark

I received ARC of Illicit After Dark by Airicka Phoenix some time ago for an honest review and I just reread it to celebrate its Amazon release that was yesterday. Illicit After Dark is part of the Jefferson After series. Each book is an interconnected standalone novella, and they can be read without earlier knowledge of the series. This story follows Chrissy and Shawn. Chrissy has been in love with her father’s best friend Shawn ever since she was sixteen. Over the years she has been teasing him, wanting him. She finally decides to go all in on her 20th birthday, when she, Shawn and her father go celebrate. This year, though Shawn’s view of her is finally in its breaking point no matter how much he tries to deny his attraction and feelings towards her. Airicka is a master of writing strong FMCs that feel realistic, and Chrissy is absolutely that. Shawn as a MMC is easy to like almost since the very beginning. The spicy scenes were hot and they fit perfectly with the story and its pacing. One of the biggest things I enjoyed is that there was an actual epilogue this time. Absolutely 5 out of 5 star reads for me!
