Leich, Lieder, Sangspr�che

In comparison to the previous 14th edition, the 15th edition of this compendium of medievalpoetry by Walther von der Vogelweide shows a number of innovations. The sources have been newly examined, and critical textual decisions revisited. In cases of major variation a number of songs have been made available in multiple versions for the first time, thus opening the door to new interpretations. Interpretive aids, which are included for each 'Ton', are a major innovation and should facilitate access to Walther s texts for students. Ease of access is also supported by additional sectionson Walther s life and work andon the editorial history of this collection. Problematic, difficult, and disputed critical decisions about the texts are explained in a separate commentary.
