The real Macbeth was totally different from Will Shakespeare version. And yes Alistair Maclean probably did use the line 'The Way to Dusty Death' as a book title.
Macbeth by William Shakespeare is dark, intense, and full of iconic moments, especially the eerie witches and the theme of ambition spiraling out of control. The psychological unraveling of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is compelling, and the mood is consistently haunting. However, the pacing feels uneven, some side characters lack depth, and the heavy, complex language can make it harder to stay engaged. It’s an important and memorable tragedy, but not the most enjoyable or accessible of Shakespeare’s plays.
