描述
Eighteen years old and alone in life, it is time for Sophie William to leave the orphanage where she has lived all her days. With nowhere else to turn, Sophie accepts an offer as a mail order bride out west. But when she arrives, she realizes her intended husband does not expect her. So now, she must play the role of a visiting cousin, and try to win the heart of a man who never asked for her in the first place, and may never ask for her at all.
Josh Saunders has closed his heart forever. After losing his beloved wife in childbirth, he cannot find his way through his pain, not even for his infant daughter. So while he may consent to let Sophie help around his house, he does not plan to let his affections go any further. He simply cannot bear the guilt that comes with opening his heart again.
But love has its own plans, and the heart has a way of healing even when we are not watching.
