Set against the backdrop of a cutting-edge theme park, the narrative explores the marvels and perils of genetic engineering as scientists resurrect ancient creatures. The tale raises profound questions about humanity’s reach and the consequences of playing with nature.

As the park’s creators attempt to showcase their groundbreaking advancements, not everything goes according to plan. Tensions rise as the majestic yet fearsome dinosaurs begin to exhibit unpredictable behavior. The stakes escalate, leading to heart-pounding moments where both human ingenuity and the raw power of nature collide. A solid and fast-paced read. The science and tension both hit hard, and it holds up well even with what we now know. Hammond was an absolute lunatic — I can’t imagine having that little concern for others, especially his own family. Some of the science is clearly dated now (the DNA recovery, frog gene stuff, and dinosaur behavior), but that doesn’t take away from how well the story works as a warning about human arrogance and control. Still a great ride.
