Cousins Carlie and Mitch have always been close, so when Mitch goes to Israel, Carlie's life isn't quite the same. Sure, now she has her aunt and uncle's attention at the dinner table, and her own friends can come over to visit. But she misses Mitch. When Mitch calls to tell his parents that he plans to stay in Israel to study at an Orthodox yeshiva, Carlie and her Aunt Vivian fly to Israel to try to make him change his mind.
