描述
With a few brief months of formal schooling, Thomas Edison was largely self-taught. His career as a telegrapher was undistinguished, with Edison often being fired because he paid attention to his inventions and experiments rather than his work. He found his true calling as an inventor, and held the patents on over a thousand inventions, including the light bulb and the phonograph, during his lifetime. (20030301)
