To the Lighthouse

This was quite possibly one of the most thought-provoking and interesting books I've ever read. I will admit it took me a little while to get into it. I initially struggled with the biographical style Woolf employed and had to put the book down fir a good while, hence the docked star. However once i was back into it, i finished it in a day. I do have to celebrate this book mostly due to how happy this book made me whilst reading it. Its joyful and romantic description of Orlando's world in turn gave me a far greater appreciation of my own surroundings and experiences, which i shall be forever grateful for. Overall a very good book, just a bit challenging to jump straight into.

Una habitación propia me pareció un libro brillante. Virginia Woolf tiene una forma de escribir llena de sensibilidad y con tanta inteligencia que te hace pensar muchísimo, y mientras leía me replanteé mil cosas sobre la historia, las oportunidades y lo que significa ser mujer y tener libertad, reflejando de forma tan profunda cómo el mundo ha tratado y sigue tratando a las mujeres.Terminé el libro con una mezcla de admiración, enojo, inspiración y una enorme gratitud hacia esta autora por haber escrito algo tan necesario y tan adelantado a su tiempo.Sinceramente, creo que todas las mujeres deberíamos leer este libro al menos una vez en la vida, porque te despierta, te inspira y te deja con una sensación muy fuerte de querer tener tu propio espacio, tu voz y tu independencia. Me encantó, y sin duda se queda entre mis lecturas favoritas. Esta autora no decepciona, y espero poco a poco poder leer todos sus libros.
