This book isn't particularly bad, it's just definitely written for a younger audience. It's odd because they talk about blowjobs and making out that kind of thing, but the way it's written feels more like a book I'd have been heavily interested in when I was in the 8th grade. Not to crap on the Author or anything, I have read other series and books by her that I absolutely adore even in my adult life. I think if I had read this series maybe in early high school I'd have thought it was the best series ever. But now that I've moved up in books this feels a little wattpad like.

I'm on a mission to read the entire series in a few months, so I'm hopeful that everything ties together through the books. If it's written as well as some of her other series than this first book is just a small set up in a huge plot and world building scheme.

This is my second read-through!I read it all like a decade ago, in high school!I definitely enjoy it for the nostalgia, aside from that it is definitely more aimed for middle-grade to YA.Zoey is our MC but her character development throughout the series is so good.The other characters you will fall in love with as they fight evil through each book. The friend group is so great, and they will make you laugh and cry.Definitely worth reading.I would love more of an adult version of this series !
