政府不願公開的「閃焰症」真相即將揭曉。
「這一切什麼時候才會結束？看著太陽把地球燒成焦土，好不容易找到食物、建立了可以居住的地方，昨天大家還有說有笑的，結果突然飛來一艘大堡對著我們射飛鏢，把大家都弄死了！這是怎麼回事？上面是不是有人正在取笑我們、把我們當白癡耍？」
天空飛來不知名大堡，一群從頭到腳包著綠色橡膠衣的人拿著奇怪武器，對閃焰倖存者發射飛鏢，傷者幾乎當場死亡。馬克僥倖逃過一劫，但他受傷的好友卻像發瘋似地拿頭撞牆，死前還反覆唸著：「有東西住在我的腦袋裡……」
馬克決定追蹤墜毀的大堡前往基地，搞清楚真相。途中經過另一個遭到攻擊的小鎮，鎮上堆滿了屍體，只剩一個小女孩在街上遊蕩。她也受了傷，卻沒有死，也沒有發狂……

I personally didn't think the Kill Order was good. I was actually pretty disappointed with it. I really liked The Maze Runner trilogy though they were really good. I liked the prologue, the epilogue and some bits in the middle, but half the time I just wanted to finish this book cause I just got bored of it due to having so much action... well way too much and just the jumpy bits from memories to the present life. I understand the point of adding Deedee in there, that was good, but overall it just kind of bored me a bit too much.

Buenísimo, me ha gustado más que los libros principales y eso fue por la historia que aborda.Hay mucha más acción aquí y de la buena, un poco irrealista ya que unos niños son mucho más fuerte que un montón de adultos locos, pero bueno de lo contrario estuvo muy bueno.La historia que abordó este libro lo sentí mucho más profunda, en esta ocasión si pude simpatizar con los personajes y uuuf, me dolió tanto hacerlo.Ese capítulo final me hizo soltar lágrimas, fue maravilloso y desgarrador al mismo tiempo.
