查看全部I loved this books so much!!! I know that there will never be another one like it. I found myself connecting with Holden in some parts and being absolutely confused by his thinking, in others. I loved how kind he was to Phoebe, which showed just how much he cared and loved her. I am going to be reccomemding this book to everyone. It was the kind of book that really helps open your eyes to how other people think. Along with the thoughts behind there actions. The Catcher in the Rye is one of those stories that will live on throughout history. One question I wish that Holden had gotten an answer to, was where the ducks had gone when the lake would freeze over. I know that the answer is common knowledge but the question just felt like such a poetic and memorable part of the story for me. The Catcher in the Rye may be very close to being one of my new favorite books.
I liked it — the language felt fresh and casual, making it an easy, enjoyable read. I’m not sure I fully grasped the deeper meaning, but I did relate to Holden’s sense of wanting to leave everything behind. It felt real.
I was surprisingly surprised how much I liked this book. For me it's one of those books where you can relate to the character and his story about his day to day life. After getting kicked out of school. I think for me the title is very misleading. When I opened this book I was expecting an old school story about the Midwest, cowboys, or hunters. Back in the western time.
