This book is very very dark but the underlying message I picked up on was that there are people that grow up living the most diabolical trauma and the ways those people grow up and how they either shun their upbringing or continue that trauma on others... It is a sad story with horrific scenes but I think Alex was redeemable he has goodness in him and he needed Ophelia to bring out what his mother started all those years ago.DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO ANY TRIGGERES!!

Holy shit, this was dark. The trigger warnings are not enough to prepare you for the shit that happens in this book. It is straight unthinkable and wrong on so many levels, but maybe the unpredictability was what kept me hooked because I could not stop reading it. 😂
