This book is dark, obsessive, sinful, beautifully unhinged, and somehow manages to make you question your morals while simultaneously making you want to throw the book across the room and then immediately pick it back up. 😂Birdie Cooper has spent years sacrificing everything for everyone else. Ryan? He’s spent those same years looking for her. And when he finally finds her, his obsession is so deeply woven into his life that you start realizing this man didn't just remember her...He never stopped.The obsession. The devotion. The possessiveness. The power dynamics. The religious guilt. The forbidden everything. 🫠And Ryan Bell?You are simultaneously the worst thing and the best thing.Sierra Simone has this ridiculous ability to make every sentence feel like it was specifically designed to crawl under my skin. I highlighted an absolutely irresponsible amount of this book because the writing is THAT good. Every interaction between Birdie and Ryan felt charged, complicated, uncomfortable, intoxicating, and completely impossible to look away from.And can we talk about the fact that this is technically a second chance-ish romance when these two barely even got their first chance?
