This sequel was chock full of political strife and dove deep into the different kinds of ruling classes. Enemies to lovers back to enemies, the plot felt as though it pulled near the middle but picked up exponentially as information was revealed. Learning to sympathize with characters thought to be hated and becoming suspicious of characters thought to be loved keeps a reader on their toes and not knowing what to expect.
I really really wanted to love this book. I really loved iron widow, but this book didn't live up to it's expectations. The love triangle I loved in iron widow did not exist in this book. The fierce and feminist rage was ton d down in this book. I see why but I missed it. The end made no sense to me at all. I don't understand it. We went to another world with different "rules" and left so quickly I couldn't understand what was happening. The pase throughout the book was a lot slower then the first one until the end. The ending was so rushed and fast pased I had to read it multiple times to understand what was happening.
