描述

Jamie Canning has always felt a pull towards his childhood friend, but their lives have taken them in different directions. A star athlete with a bright future in hockey, he embodies the perfect jock image, while grappling with unspoken feelings that have lingered since their youth. As he navigating the complexities of life and relationships, Jamie finds himself questioning the boundaries he thought were clearly defined.

On the other hand, the charismatic and bold character challenges Jamie’s perceptions of love and teamwork. Together, they embark on a journey of self-discovery, filled with laughter, tension, and undeniable chemistry. As they face challenges both on and off the rink, Jamie must confront his feelings and the reality of their connection, realizing that perhaps they have more in common than he ever imagined.

With themes of friendship, love, and acceptance, the narrative explores how vulnerability can lead to unexpected bonds, all set against the backdrop of a compelling sports world. In this emotional rollercoaster, Jamie learns that love can transcend the expectations of society and the confines of traditional roles.

4 stars seems generous, 3 is more fair, however that would leave me to give “Us” 2 stars which seems harsh, as “Him” is the better of the 2.I did relate to James and Wes’s rekindling love story, which I enjoyed, but the writing style was a bit juvenile for me. Basic storytelling, making it a nice easy read, but some lines made it feel like it was written for high schoolers/young adult. Which, for being MM romance with some explicit love scenes, it made feelings sort of confusing.Overall though, I enjoyed it. I think it’s a great book for those looking to explore the world of MM romance, especially when looking for where to go after reading Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series.

4.5 stars!! I love them. I'm a SUCKER for a friend's to lovers trope. THE WAY JAMIES FAMILY ACCEPTED WES SO FAST IN THE EPILOGUE. SO CUTE :,)

At first, I did not like this book very much especially because of the first person narrative, as a fantasy reader I am very used to the third person narrative and I like it that way, naturally it was a bit hard for me to get used to the writing style. However, once I overcomed it, the reading got nice. I liked the story as it was quite light-hearted and funny while still being emotional and interesting.
