Love is dangerous. Trust is a weakness. Possession is a toxic game.
Sweet and gentle, calm and collected, nervous and inexperienced, Tobias Mitchell was death cloaked in the form of a handsome man. But, instead of running the other way, she fell for him.

Aria is his, and he'll do anything to make sure she stays that way.

查看全部This book was everything I didn’t know I needed! It was such a gift to get an insight into Aria and Tobias again—raw, intense, and so beautifully written. I was a little hesitant at first, worried it might lean too heavily into spice without much plot, but halfway through, it completely surprised me. The emotional depth, the heartbreak, the way their story unfolded—it was gripping.Leigh Rivers once again delivers a masterpiece, perfectly balancing passion with powerful storytelling. If you're a fan of the Edge of Darkness universe, this one is an absolute must-read.
3.5 ⭐Unfortunately, this book didn't resonate with me the same way the Edge of Darkness (EoD) series did.I loved that series so much, but I felt a different set of emotions for this book. It made me look at Ewan with different eyes and appreciate him even more, and it made me hate Tobias a bit more.I wanted to scream because of all the pain he put Aria through. Throughout EoD, I felt like Aria was with Ewan for convenience and care, but not love, because I thought she only truly loved Tobias. This book proved the opposite; I don't know how she could even love Tobias. Care for him, sure, but not love. So, this book sort of broke the magic of their love for me.My heart broke for all that happened. It broke for Tobias, who loved for the first time and thought that for her and with her, he could be healthy and safe, but unfortunately, that's not how mental health works.Would I read this book before EoD if I could? I don't know. I don't think I would be able to love Tobias in the same way, but reading it first would allow me to catch the meaning of small references regarding Kade, Aria's story, and Tobias himself.
