For the first time in the murky world of contract assassination, despite his formidable reputation, Falcon was learning the hard way that you never quite know who your friends are. His talent for 'discreet disposal' had enabled Falcon to carry out many successful operations for the various Allied security services. This latest should have been straight forward, choreographing the accidental death of a highly respected, but traitorous, British military industrialist. However, he had not bargained for betrayal. Falcon would have cause to curse himself repeatedly for breaking the cardinal rule, by developing a personal love life from which he could not simply walk away. Now, forced by blackmailers to carry out an assassination of what Falcon considers a friendly, their threats against his beloved Maria add a further complication to the unfolding disaster that rapidly becomes his life. In a taut and unique thriller, Falcon confronts the dilemma of executing the black and white decisions of his ruthless professional life, set against the subtle shades of grey that his raw conscience forces him to examine, as he plays a devious game of poker with his tormentors. He must explore all options, as the increasingly desperate situation challenges him to tackle head on this self-made crisis, before his life completely implodes. Soul Trader poses some unusual moral questions, but for Falcon ... is this finally payback time?
