Jack Simmons was looking for relief from an exhausting book tour and the burdens of his resent divorce. His plans were to take possession of the boat he had purchased, find a quite cove and anchor; then vegetate. This did not happen. On his first day back in North Haven, and before he had time to see his new boat, the elongated tentacles of a Panamanian drug cartel encircled him, pulling him into a world of murder, betrayal and rouge cops.

The cartel followed Jack's movements mistakenly believed he would lead them to the ship and the cocaine it was carrying.

Also watching Jack was a woman who would eventually expose his past, back to the very day he was born.
