描述

The New York Times bestseller is now a major motion picture!

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper may not be the prettiest girl in her high school, but she has a loyal group of friends, a biting wit, and a spot-on BS detector. She's also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush, who calls Bianca the Duff--the designated ugly fat friend--of her crew.

But things aren't so great at home and Bianca, desperate for a distraction, ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.

Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn't such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she's falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

História bem interessante: retrato de um tempo com recortes já conhecidos mas que discutem pequenas questões sobre outros prismas. \n Romance que entrega e aquece o coração, personagens humanos que erram e acertam, \n Amei e por vezes odiei.

So I started reading this because a friend recommended it to me.The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend is a book that is very different from the past Young Adult books I've read. Given at first I really have no idea how to feel about this novel at all. On one hand it was entertaining enough for me to finish reading it and on the other hand there are certain parts that just bug me.The book is about a girl named Bianca who is called a "Duff" by heartthrob, Wesley Rush, the guy every girl wants to date. Obviously, and rightly so, Bianca gets angry at him and dumps soda on him. Of course what he calls her continues to haunt her afterwards. After this happens, her personal life gets messy. Her dad is on the brink of becoming an alcoholic (and no he isn't a "happy" drunk) again, her mom is never really home, and her former jerky boyfriend is coming back. So to deal with all this, she goes and sleeps with Wesley.Of course while she is doing this, she ends up sort of pushing aside her best friends, Which also leads to a bit more problems. And then there is the Toby or Wesley problem. As far as characters go all the characters were tolerable. I enjoyed Cassie and her support through out everything. I would have liked to have learned more about Harrison, though lolThere were things in this book though that bugged me. One thing was probably when Wesley was using Bianca to hit on her friends. I mean it seemed pretty dumb to actually call her a "Duff" when he is trying to use her to get a date with her friends. Another thing was her sleeping with Wesley. I don't really care about her sleeping with him, it's just that at this point she hated him, so why did she continue to have sex with him? It's quite baffling. As for the ending, this book wraps up perfectly. All conflicts are resolved. It actually reminds me of a Disney movie. Everyone goes home "Happy." Which is fine. I just sort of wished it wasn't this perfect.Overall, I'm pegging this novel as a, you either like it or you don't, novel.
