描述
THE SEAL is one of an acclaimed series of short novels or mini-novels written by Warwick Collins.
Two elderly British writers, Patrick Ironscombe and the narrator, Geoffrey O’Toole, live near Lymington on the south coast of England. Both are keen sea-anglers, and occasionally meet on the foreshore at Hurst Castle while fishing.
The fishing has been unusually lean that year. Ironscombe informs his friend that he has learned from the local professional sea-fishermen that there are two seals which have taken up permanent residence close by Hurst Castle. If they have not eaten all the fish in the local area, Ironscombe warns, they are likely to have frightened the other fish away. Both men begin to plot the removal of the seals, by fair means or foul. Their first avenue of attack is to purchase some polar bear dung from London zoo, in the hope that its presence in the vicinity will frighten the seals. Will their eco-terrorism work?
Warwick Collins has an international literary reputation. THE RATIONALIST was described by Le Monde as 'a perfect novel'. His novel GENTS was reviewed in the Times list of all-time literary classics.
Collins has now completed 21 sparkling new fictions for Mini-novels, specifically for e-book publication. Each is about 50 pages long and capable of being read in under an hour. All 21 mini-novels are available through Amazon and Kindle. For a full list, click on "Warwick Collins (Author)" above. Or go to mini-novels.com for further details.
