Where Does the Sun Go At Night?

Isaac has gotten fascinated with the sunset. He asks his special friend Darby if she knows where the sun goes at night. Darby, Isaacs mentor and teacher, takes up the challenge. She shows Isaac how the shadows from the sun change during the day, and why it works. Using a blanket over Isaac's drawing table, she creates a very shaded spot. Then they take a globe and a flashlight under the table and Darby proceeds to teach Isaac that the sun (the flashlight) really doesn't go anywhere.

This book is the second of a science education series intended for children who are getting ready to deal with nature's concepts including the rotation of the earth and the constant sun. Children do not have to fully get it, but this book over time will teach them some of the fun of science.
