In a harrowing yet thought-provoking journey, a boy finds himself in a mysterious new world after facing a tragic end. Stripped of his previous life, he awakens in a desolate landscape that seems to blend the haunting echoes of his past with the stark realities of a strange new existence. As he grapples with the pain of his memories, he is forced to confront the weight of his loneliness and the choices that led him to this surreal state of being.

As he explores the terrain, he begins to encounter others, each with their own stories of loss and resilience. Together, they navigate the complexities of hope and despair, unraveling the deeper meanings of sacrifice and connection. This poignant narrative invites readers to reflect on the nature of existence and the threads that bind humanity together, ultimately posing the question of what it truly means to find solace in a world that often feels more chaotic than comforting.

know yourself and go in swinging Don't you love it when a story doesn't make sense but it makes enough sense TO YOU that you end up loving it and wishing for more? Patrick Ness really doesn't miss when it comes to magical realism-y stories.I think fans of Neil Gaiman's work, The ones we're meant to find by Joan He, and people who've read and liked The rest of us just live here by this author, would really really like this.
