Lists can also be dynamic, updating automatically based on criteria you set, such as Shelf, Genre, Descriptive Tags, Rating, and more.
Yes, BookPine allows you to sync your books and reading progress across multiple devices. Just log in with the same account on each device.
No, there is no limit to the number of books you can add to your bookshelf. However, there are limits on the number of readings (5 per edition), notes (5 per edition), and active goals (3 active goals at a time).
Private books are books that are not visible to other users. You need to check the "Private" option when adding a book to your library.
Goals are updated hourly. You can check your progress in the app.
Goals are based on the reading log, not on the books you add to your shelf. You need to add a reading log entry for each book you want to track.
No, once a book, note, review, or reading log is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
The logbook calendar contains all started and finished readings.
Series are added to your library automatically based on the books you shelve. Whenever a book belongs to a series, that series shows up in your series tracking. We only track the primary works of a series (the main entries and omnibus editions), so companion titles, novellas, and other extras are not counted toward your progress. If you do not want to follow a particular series, you can mute it.
A Reading Circle is a group built around a single book, where members read at their own pace and discuss it together. The person who creates the circle is its host and sets an end date (up to 6 months away) and a deadline for new members to join. Circles can be public, so anyone can find and join them, or private, which are shared through a link. Here is what you can do inside a circle:
- Roles: the host runs the circle and can appoint moderators; everyone else is a member. Depending on the settings, you either join instantly or request to join and wait for approval, and members can also be invited directly.
- Progress posts: when you post, you can attach how far along you are in the book. Posts above your own reading progress are hidden from you automatically, so the discussion stays spoiler-free. Hosts and moderators can view every post.
- Media & polls: you can add up to two images to a post, embed a poll, and react to posts and comments.
- Comments: posts support threaded comments, and replies are one level deep to keep conversations easy to follow.
- Moderation: hosts and moderators can pin important posts, remove posts or comments, and restore anything removed by mistake.
