I'm so annoyed it took me so long to finish this book.
Spectacular all I'll say
I have had this book since it came out but refused to read it because I knew it ended on a cliffhanger.I wanted to be able to read the next one after finishing this one.Now I got this because I love the setting of dark academia and there are very few that aren't fantasy or magic based.I will say while I did enjoy this book I do not see what all the hype is about. I understand Ophelia's hesitation about Alex upon knowing who he is but it would be nice for a character to not automatically judge someone based on the actions of their family. It is clear early on that Alex hates his dad as much as, if not more so, than Ophelia and yet she didn't see fit to tell him the truth after all he told her knowing she could use that against him.The stalker aspect was interesting at first but then I lost interest in that and focused on the characters. Other than Alex, the best characters in this book are Vincenzo and Belladonna! Absolutely top tier characters and they deserve their own book in my opinion.As for the cliffhanger, I wasn't that mad at it as I was expecting but that could be because I had the next book ready to read lol.Overall I would recommend this book.

oh my god???? this book was EVERYTHING!!!! i could not put it down after the 25% mark! i ate it tf uppppp! the cliffhanger is criminalllll though. and i have to wait until july?!?! idk how i’m gonna manage bc i will be thinking about it until i read it!!!
I really enjoyed this despite having seen some not so good reviews. It was simply a romance between two desperate young people, each with a history of family turmoil, that linked them together, which became their downfall. I like that it ended the way that it did as it makes me want to find out what, who and why. It is academia based but not so that it takes away from the characters. The romance is innocent and done to a degree that spice isn't needed to awaken the imagination.

ALEX CORBEAU-GREEN???? on the floor. on my knees. drooling. giggling. kicking my feet. blushing. i haven’t been this feral over an mmc in so long are you kidding!!!! 78 highlights on kindle and a solid 90% of them are just me losing my mind over him i fear.
I sore this book recommendation on tiktok and even though i did enjoy it. I found it hard to get into at the start and that somethings un the story were very guessable.

The characters were compelling—Ophelia’s hunger for revenge battling her humanity, her weaknesses slowly becoming strengths; Alex, with his grumpy exterior but deep emotions beneath. I also loved seeing Alex’s relationship with his family and couldn’t help but want to give him (and Ophelia) a hug for all they endure. Side characters added humor and depth, and even though I guessed one of the twists early, the cliffhanger ending left me eager for book two.My only real drawback: the book is labeled as enemies-to-lovers, but I didn’t really get that. There’s instant attraction and banter, and while there are elements of wanting something you shouldn’t, the “enemy” tension isn’t really there—the feelings are clear early on. I did get a bit frustrated with Ophelia at times, but over the course of the story, she grew in maturity and strength.Tropes: stalker, revenge, secret agenda, forbidden attraction, dark academiaHighly recommend this for fans of dark academia. If you enjoy moody ambience, mysterious murder plots, revenge, and forbidden romance, this one is right up your alley

This is a perfect mix of mystery x dark academia x enemies to lovers🤭🖤I LOOOOVED this books. If you're looking for a fast paced dark academia romance with mystery then this is it!!First off, with a lot of romances like these I'm always scared that the whole mystery aspect won't be fleshed out as good as it could be, so I was kinda scared of that going in. But AW did sooo good with the mystery aspects. Yes, this books has a lot of focus on romance (it's why I chose to read it 🤭), but I was never left wanting on the other things happening in the book. The whole mystery stalker aspect, the whole eerie creepy university vibe and context. Autumn Woods really wrote it in a way that really has you GRIPPED, and thinking about it when you're not reading it (literally every time i wasn't sitting with me ereader I was just thinking about the book 🤭) And now THE ROMANCE. YA'LL IF HE'S NOT ALEX I DON'T WANT HIM. They way these two banter got me giggling and kicking my feet trough the entire book. And the fact he flirts with her trough word games, because she likes word games HDJSJSJ. The way this man teaches her how to be loved while she teaches him the same. The way these two heal each other's broken while also respecting the broken parts. It's literally two broken souls colliding and making each other whole😭🤍 And the way this man was so down bad obsessed with Ophelia, made me giggle and kick my feet throughout out the book so many times. We barely got any of his chapter at the start, but when I was reading his chapters, I was eating that UP. This man is the definition of down bad feral for his girl and would do anything for her. But it wasn't just the feral part, but the SOFTNESS. The way he was so kind and soft and patient with Ophelia when she needed it, the way he was exactly what Ophelia needed. And Ophelia was exactly what he needed. And the way Autumn wove real mental health issues into their relationship, it just made their love more beautiful and poetic. I YEARN for this kind of love the way Alex yearns for Ophelia. Also I absolutely looooved Ophelia's character, this girl is so strong after everything she's been put trough. I wouldn't survive a day in that school. And she was so relatable too, I highlighted so many of her internal thoughts it's not even funny. 😭AND OHH MY MAN ALEX 🤭 That's a man right there. He's all tatted sad boy but also attractive as hell and down bad feral for Ophelia and totally one of my book boyfriends now🫣 Also his background made my heart ache throughout the entire book. The way this man is taking care of all his sisters and his mom and also down bad for Ophelia while wanting to take down his asshole dad. AND AFTER THAT ENDING😭💔 And what an ending!!! How dare you miss Autumn Woods. WHY?!?!?! I cannot wait that long. Like genuinly, how after that ending?!?! I'm screaming and crying😭This book was so well-paced and easy to get trough and this book was exactly what I needed from an easy read with a really good plot. At times it felt a little too fast paced for my liking. Sometimes I wanted a bit more context to make it flow better into each other. But still, every time i put it down, I just kept thinking about going back to reading. So it was a really good book!I really need book 2, like NOW
