I'm so annoyed it took me so long to finish this book.
Spectacular all I'll say
I have had this book since it came out but refused to read it because I knew it ended on a cliffhanger.I wanted to be able to read the next one after finishing this one.Now I got this because I love the setting of dark academia and there are very few that aren't fantasy or magic based.I will say while I did enjoy this book I do not see what all the hype is about. I understand Ophelia's hesitation about Alex upon knowing who he is but it would be nice for a character to not automatically judge someone based on the actions of their family. It is clear early on that Alex hates his dad as much as, if not more so, than Ophelia and yet she didn't see fit to tell him the truth after all he told her knowing she could use that against him.The stalker aspect was interesting at first but then I lost interest in that and focused on the characters. Other than Alex, the best characters in this book are Vincenzo and Belladonna! Absolutely top tier characters and they deserve their own book in my opinion.As for the cliffhanger, I wasn't that mad at it as I was expecting but that could be because I had the next book ready to read lol.Overall I would recommend this book.

oh my god???? this book was EVERYTHING!!!! i could not put it down after the 25% mark! i ate it tf uppppp! the cliffhanger is criminalllll though. and i have to wait until july?!?! idk how i’m gonna manage bc i will be thinking about it until i read it!!!
I really enjoyed this despite having seen some not so good reviews. It was simply a romance between two desperate young people, each with a history of family turmoil, that linked them together, which became their downfall. I like that it ended the way that it did as it makes me want to find out what, who and why. It is academia based but not so that it takes away from the characters. The romance is innocent and done to a degree that spice isn't needed to awaken the imagination.
things i need:– book two, immediately.– alex corbeau-green, biblically.this is the gothic dark academia romance slash mystery of my dreams hello!! rating this 4.5 stars like half an hour after i finished it but honestly could easily get bumped up to a 5. i was obsessed the entire time, even though i feel like it dragged for a second there with ophelia not opening up to alex but constantly thinking about doing it.and alex???? ALEX CORBEAU-GREEN???? on the floor. on my knees. drooling. giggling. kicking my feet. blushing. i haven’t been this feral over an mmc in so long are you kidding!!!! 78 highlights on kindle and a solid 90% of them are just me losing my mind over him i fear.
I sore this book recommendation on tiktok and even though i did enjoy it. I found it hard to get into at the start and that somethings un the story were very guessable.
