This is a very quick listen and read since it's only 224 pages in verse but it dragged a little to get the point. It is an interesting take if there was a room in-between life and death but it was more to desired to the very least. The book was pretty much 50% when the secondary main character came into focus. It wasn't until the last 5% you really understood what was going on between the two. So it was that disconnect to me since both characters were important to the story and the situation to reason why they are in the room between worlds. If you like to cook, this book will make you hungry since there are recipes mentioned all the way through the book. All and All it's a quick read and is perfect to read right now during Black History Month.
